lux – u – ry (luhg-zhuh-ree) noun [from Latin, luxus and its derivative luxuria, excess, indulgence]
1. The habitual enjoyment of or indulgence in the best and most costly things.
2. An inessential and desirable item that is expensive of difficult to obtain.
In contemporary marketing usage, Prof. Bernard Dubois defines “luxury” as a specific (i.e. higher-priced) tier of offering in almost any product or service category. However, despite the substantial body of knowledge accumulated during the past few decades, researchers still have not arrived on a common definition.
PRADA is the big one; the show that will define the season for months to come. There are “good Pradas” and “better Pradas” and this one was a hit. And now the much awaited campaign for Prada’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection is here.
The Italian luxury brand showcases an array of chic and colorful ensembles and accessories, shot by acclaimed fashion photographer Steven Meisel.
For the first time, the campaign includes, not one, but two black models (Cindy Bruna and the returning Malaika Firth). By Prada standards, and despite the lack of a single Asian model, this is one of the most diverse casts yet.
Armand de Brignac is a champagne which is edited and produced by Champagne Cattier, a family business that has been since 1763 in the possession of vineyards in the Champagne region and is one of the world’s finest champagne houses. Armand de Brignac is still made in the traditional way of only eight people by hand. The grapes come exclusively from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards of the Montagne de Reims regions, Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs, thus mean quality. The grapes come from all vintages wine villages, bearing the title Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Each cuvée is a blend of three different vintages. This higher complexity is ensured, as more variety and flavor nuances than individual vintages. The current cuvée Armand de Brignac is from a combination of the years 2002, 2003 and 2005.
It is marvelously complex and full-bodied, with a bouquet that is both fresh and lively. Its sumptuous, racy fruit character is perfectly integrated with wine’s subtle brioche accents. Its texture is deliciously creamy with light, tiny bubbles and has won “#1 Champagne in the World” against the top 1000 Champagnes!
In a study conducted by the journal Fine Champagne Magazine blind tasting in which a total of 1,000 Champagne brands were evaluated, Armand de Brignac Brut Gold was awarded in November 2009 the award as “the best champagne in the world”
